Quietfire Designs Queen of Hearts Blog HOP!!!

Welcome to the day three of the Quietfire Designs Queen of Hearts Event!

For those of you that read my blog regularly, you see the same words a lot.  Quick, easy, simple.
Here I go again, I chose an easy  home decor piece,  using a Suzanne Cannon Silhouette Cutting File.

This is how my kiddo's will find part of their Valentines treats!!!

I started my Valentine project with a charger from the sale bin at a craft store, a roll of white Oracal 651 Vinyl,  Transfer Tape and a Silhouette Cameo (not pictured).

In Silhouette Cameo software, I opened up the files that I wanted to cut, the files I chose from Suzanne Cannon's  Silhouette Store are You Stole My Heart Calligraphy and Heart Flourish.  I was able to manipulate the sizes of the designs as well as how many flourishes I wanted for the project also.  I placed it on the virtual cutting mat where I wanted it to cut.

After I finished weeding.  Weeding is removing all of the unwanted vinyl from around your characters.  In the above photo I have placed transfer tape over  the top of the design  to make placing the image in its appropriate place very simple.

Once I have my design where I want it I can remove the transfer tape, which is a  medium tack, so it comes off of everything nicely.

Complete.  Sitting on my counter, waiting for the BIG DAY!!!

Here is our Blog Hop Schedule and the dates each designer will be posting (Click on each person's name to go to their blog):

Oh how fab! Love it! I love to that it's such a big day over the pond, here in Britain it's all terribly underplayed and un fussy...I decorate and everyone thinks I'm nuts!! This charger with words of truth on it is just plain gorgeous...you'll get years of use from it!

beautiful. Nice idea to have it sitting, being able to look at it until Valentine's. Still haven't tried cutting vinyl with my Cameo... It's on my short list of things to do. BIG GRIN

I love the font used with all its swirls. I may have to take a closer look at the Silhouette machine after I pay some upcoming bills. Your kids are very lucky to be able to find Valentine chocolates on this plate....can I be adopted?

I love the font you were able to achieve with the silhouette machine. That is really cool.

Wendy what a great idea!
I never thought of using vinyl for sentiment. Also could
be used for other holidays as well with different
sentiment.

This is gorgeous Wendy.. Question: Does the Vinyl come with the transfer tape, or do you have to buy it separately? I am very new to the Cameo, and would LOVE to try some vinyl.

How clever! You are so creative and love your blog. Thank you for sharing your detail instructions in the video for glitter. I resist using glitter as it is so messy. . . thanks for the tips!
